Canvas, Brushes & Paints
The most common types of canvas used for oil paintings are linen and cotton. Linen is extremely durable, because of its strength and resistance to decay. A properly prepared cotton canvas has longevity similar to linen, and is more flexible and easier to properly stretch.
Our artists use high-quality natural brushes, made from bristle and sable hair to achieve the best oil paintings possible. Brushes come in many sizes and shapes, including Flats, Filberts, Brights and Rounds.
Style and technique are important in choosing the perfect paint for a project. Our favorites include professional grade paint from Old Holland, Blockx, Sennelier, LeFranc & Bourgeois and Winsor and Newton . These are the most popular, have the best color choices and consist of only the purest, highest-quality ingredients.
