LAGRENEE Jean-Jacques (b. 1739, Paris, d. 1821, Paris) Nationality : French

French painter, known as Jean-Jacques Lagrenee the Younger. He was a history painter and engraver, the pupil of his elder brother Louis-Jean-Francois Lagrenee. With his brother he stayed in Russia (1760-62), then at the Academie de Rome (1763-68). Later he became artistic director of the Manufacture de Sevres.
