MOUNT William Sidney (1807-1868) Nationality : American

Born far from the sea in Rockport, Missouri, Frederick Mulhaupt began learning his trade as a painter at the Kansas City Art Academy and later at the Art Institute of Chicago. After furthering his studies at the Paris art schools, he returned to this country to settle and establish his studio in Gloucester, Massachusetts. While studying in Paris, Mulhaupt began to develop the strong impressionist technique that would distinguish his work at art exhibitions throughout his career as a fine artist. Distinctive in palette and brush technique, his paintings would win awards at such important venues as the Salmagundi Club, the North Shore Art Association and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.
